| Q. |
How effective is it?
|
| A. |
Recent
field tests show that Capture outyields other insecticides on the
market by as much as 85%. To see how Capture compares to Baythroid®,
Orthene® and Provado®, follow the "Performance Data" link below.
Besides controlling many of the new pests affecting cotton crops, field
trials prove that Capture controls lygus better than any other product
you can buy. Plus, Capture provides better knockdown of adult mites --
without flaring them -- than any other pyrethroid on the market. |

| Q. |
How will this affect my bottom line?
|
| A. |
With
Capture, the increase in yields is truly remarkable. Plant agronomists
have known for years that the first 10 or 11 fruiting branches make up
95% of your yield. So early control is profoundly important. Every 1%
increase in boll retention results in an additional 9 pounds of lint
per acre. With Capture, you retain more squares, particularly on nodes
6 through 9, where the earliest, most profitable squares develop. |
| |
| Q. |
Why is lygus such a threat?
|
| A. |
Amazingly,
lygus can destroy squares faster than they can develop. A fruiting
cotton plant develops one square every three days. But a single lygus
bug can destroy up to five squares in that same amount of time.
If you don't act, you can lose up to 40% of your yield. |
| |
| Q. |
Are there any usage restrictions?
|
| A. |
The
key to maximum benefits in your cotton is proper stewardship of Capture
2 EC. Since Capture should only be applied once per season — and should
not be supplemented by other pyrethroids, proper application timing is
crucial. |
| |
| Q. |
Does Capture provide good residual control?
|
| A. |
You
should apply Capture only once, during the critical fruiting period
(from first square to boll set). After that, you'll see solid residual
control. Once you've applied Capture, you shouldn't apply any other
pyrethroids during that particular growing season. |
