Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Is it really more convenient than granular insecticides?
A. Absolutely. Switching to a liquid formulation provides many advantages: • No more granular hassles, like lugging 50-pound bags, calibrating and recalibrating insecticide boxes and exposure to granule dust. • You get greater application accuracy. • Specially designed closed-system returnable U-Turn® containers work with the closed-application system to substantially reduce the potential for exposure during mixing and loading. • Plus, there's no on-site storage of insecticide or container disposal.

Q. How does the Custom Delivery System minimize exposure?
A. The FMC Custom Delivery System (CDS) was designed especially for Furadan 4 F to minimize risk of exposure during handling, while promoting accuracy and performance. CDS is a closed mixing, loading and application system, so you don't have to open and pour products. Plus, it helps assure an even flow of the chemical. For every row, one or two microtubes inject the insecticide into the furrow, where the chemical protects the newly developed roots of the plant. Effectiveness is maximized. Handling is minimized.

Q. Do I need special equipment?
A. The CDS adapts to virtually any planting equipment. Two Furadan containers and a pumping system are set into a base unit which is mounted on your planter. A monitor in the cab lets you operate the system from inside the tractor. And, while it's easy to operate, it's even easier to clean.

Q.
How does Furadan 4 F work?
A. Furadan 4 F is absorbed through the roots and moves systematically into the corn plant's vascular system, providing protection form above-ground foliar feeding insects as well as soil insects.

Q. Will Furadan 4 F work in southern corn?
A. Yes. Furadan 4 F provides protection of southern corn rootworm nematodes. It can be used in rotation with liquid starter fertilizers.
